Take a Look at our Five-Step Repaint Plan
STEP ONE The Pressure Wash
A pressure washer excels at scouring away dirt, grime and especially chalking, the powdery pigment left on the surface when old oil and some acrylic paints deteriorate.
The scouring action is so strong that we wont need a cleaner (TSP or non phosphate substitute) like you would if the surface was washed by hand.
Firstly we look for dirt, especially up under the soffits, we then wash all the previously painted surfaces. This will ensure that the new paint will adhere well.
STEP TWO The Preparation
Firstly we hand scrape all loose and peeling paint, then burn off all paint peeling beyond repair. We rake out and replace all defective glazing putty.
Then we fill and rub down the woodwork with 2 pack plastic filler. We fill all cracks in the masonry with cement based repair plaster.
Oil prime all bare wood and metal prior to painting. Apply oil based stabiliser to cleaned down masonry. We use a flexible caulk filler around all windows and trim. Set all loose nails on the property.
STEP THREE The Painting
All non-painted surfaces, glass and landscaping will be protected from possible overspray. All scaffolding and access equipment will be supplied and erected by our contractor.
The walls will be treated with anti-fungicidal wash where mould is present. We then apply two coats of premium quality masonry paint to the walls. All woodwork and trim will receive two full undercoats and a gloss finish.
STEP FOUR The Clean Up
A crew member will perform a clean up every evening and thoroughly on completion of the job. All rubbish will be removed from site. Touch up paints will be left with the client. Furniture and fittings are replaced. Plant and flower beds are cleaned of all paint chips, debris etc.
STEP FIVE The Handover
Before the crew packs up their equipment, the first walk around is done to ensure that all contracted areas are painted properly. A snag sheet is filled in and checked off. The painter in charge walks the client around the property again and will ask the customer to sign the completion form when satisfied.
